The Missouri Supreme Court has vacated the death sentence of Christopher Simmons, holding that the execution of juvenile offenders violates the 8th Amendment of the United States Constitution under the "evolving standards of decency" test. In the statistics sections of this website, Simmons and Antonio Richardson will still be considered under sentence of death and Missouri will be considered a state that executes juveniles until the US Supreme Court decides whether to hear the state of Missouri's appeal.
